You and your family will have access to Australia’s universal public health system (Medicare), Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), government-funded schools, and Commonwealth-supported university places.

You will have normal waiting periods waived for a range of Australian Government benefits and payments. To receive these payments, you will still need to meet the other eligibility criteria. These benefits and payments are:
- Family Tax Benefit
- Child Care Subsidy
- Youth Allowance (Student and Australian Apprentice)
- Austudy

- VET Student Loans (VSL).
